Westwood vs Mater Lakes

Our Warriors traveled to Ft Lauderdale to participate in the Annual Westminster Academy Holiday Classic. Playing versus Mater Lakes Academy in the opening round of competition, our Warriors wasted no time. James began the quarter with back to back “takes” to the bucket, resulting in two easy baskets and setting the tone for our Warriors.

Deep in the trenches was Eman, working hard for position, resulting in numerous lay-ups and short range shots. Our guards did a great job of looking for Eman constantly in the low-post and he rewarded them with 15 first-half points. Senior David Monell drained 10 points in the opening half, while also working hard on the defensive end. Sebastian rose to the occasion in the one, battling for every rebound and controlling the paint with hustle and determination.

“Sebas” played a great game, finishing with another double-double (10 points & 10 rebounds) while also playing smart help-defense while clogging the lane. Emmanuel once again could not be contained. He simply willed his team to the 20-point lead by converting at an extremely high rate around the rim. His game-high 25 points were no match for the opposition. Eman did a major portion of his damage on the defensive side of the ball, swatting away shots at every chance, finishing with a season high 11 blocked shots. Eman also pulled-down 16 rebounds, completing his first triple-double of the season.
