Westwood Christian vs. Keys Gate Charter

Published by wcsbasketball on

Our Young Warriors finally had their opportunity to let out some steam and put all those hours of practice to good use versus Keys Gate High in the opening game of the season. They wasted little time in displaying a glimpse of what is to come this year, storming out to a big lead early on.

Jules Molina got the party started with his aggressive defensive effort, forcing turn-overs and collecting a team-high 4 steals. His hard-nosed approach carried on throughout the team, as backcourt teammate Adrian Farradas followed with 4 steals of his own.

Adrian’s perimeter game was on display as well, knocking-down several long-distance bombs while totalling a game-high 19-points

Sebastian Guitian also showed his offensive potential, slashing to the basket while also nailing 2 3’s from the top of the arch. Sebastian’s14-points and 7-rebounds helped keep their opponents at bay throughout the first half while James Ametepe (14pts & 10 rbs)put the game away in the third quarter with an array of drives and strong finishes at the rim.

Our Young Warriors continued the onslaught in quarter #4 with a total team effort on the defensive side of the ball. Keeping their turnovers low and playing “team-basketball” propelled them to the easy victory.

Final Score: Westwood 86-Keys-Gate 58
