Westwood vs. Coral Springs Christian

Published by wcsbasketball on

The interior play of our Warriors was in “dominant” form versus Coral Springs Christian Academy last night, as numerous players “went to work” in the paint.

As usual, “Big E” got the party started by controlling the paint and changing almost every attempt near the rim, while also swatting-away shots with ease. His 8 blocks paced our inside defense and led to the runaway victory.

James wasnt far behind, displaying some incredible “pins” on several attempted lay-ups, wreaking havoc on his counterpart. Jamesshowed more breath-taking plays while attacking the rim and converting on a number of 3-point plays. His 14-point /10-rebound / 4-block performance was fun to witness and gave everyone a taste of what the future holds for him.

Matthew Mejias came out on fire also, draining jumpers from long-distance and combining it with gritty play down low. He established position and used his newfound “muscle” to score with ease.

Twin brother (Mikey) however stole the show with a great stat-line of 8pts / 10stls / 11rbds / 7assts. Mikey brought his intensity and pressure style and helped turn-up the tempo and force several turnovers. His desire and hard work/energy are a big boost to our Warriors and will be greatly needed come playoffs.

Junior Sebastian Guitian continued his streak of solid play, totaling another double-double with 15-points and 12-rebounds.

Final Score: Warriors 71 – CSCA 59
